The Balgarevo monastery is situated in the village of Balgarevo, several kimometers to the north of the seaside town of Kavarna.
The monastery is newly built, while its church was consecrated in the beginning of May, 2008. It represents a compact complex of a church, a yard, a dining hall in a separate building, and several one-storey residential buildings. One of its valuable possessions are relics of St. Ekaterina that have been brought from Russia and are kept in the monastery’s church itself. The church is a one-nave building that is yet to be painted. Fro the time being, the monastery is inhabited by a single monk.
Food is not offered, but accommodation of small groups of visitors is foreseen for the near future.
The monastery is easy to find, as it is located in the very village, while the cross of the church is seen from most parts of Balgarevo.
