The Gorni Bogrov monastery “St George the Victorious” is situated at the end of the Gorni Bogrov village, on the main road from Sofia to Varna.
It is believed that the “St George the Victorious” monastery was built in the 19th c. At present, it is an acting monks’ cloister. It consists of several residential buildings and a small church that unfortunately was closed during our visit (July 2007). The church’s holiday is marked on May 6, St George’s Day. The monastery is surrounded by an imposing brick-wall, while the old buildings are contrasted by a newly built fountain with two small statues of lions in front of it.
Neither food nor accommodation is offered.
The monastery lies on the main road between Sofia and Varna and there is a sign just before one reaches it.
